The Kindred Chapter began with a desire to make more room for stories and voices too often overlooked—and that remains part of who we are.

We intentionally seek out women, diverse and underrepresented voices, independent authors, and stories that offer something beyond the familiar.

But we also believe there’s room for joy, comfort, escapism, strange little books, devastating ones, and the book you picked up simply because something about it called to you.

Not every story has to change your life.

But every story deserves the chance to find its reader.
